Well Mellissa this is a hard one…

I hope you would not hand out with them while they were drinking… but if they are old enough they are allowed to do whatever they want.
You on the other hand if you get caught you are the one that pays for the MIP.

Have you tried to talk to them about drinking when you are around and what YADA means to you? Are these older friends even old enough to drink? If they arent then coming from your leader point of view I would say just put a good distance between you and them and tell them until they are of the age and you are too you cannot hang out like you want because of the bad decisions they are making.

It is tough, especially when they are people you care about. But if they cared about you they would take what you had to say in and not do it.

Good luck with it all, I hope these people realize how special you are!

i have really really enjoyed this group it has been a great expirence and it has helped me understand what has become a normal enviorment that shouldnt be and i have had a great time meeting other students from diffrent group standing by my side pledging to be drug and alcohol free.

Thanks kayleigh for having me a part of your youth group i look forward to next year……

My favorite thing all year was the Red and White Game. It was so fun meeting new kids and going on to the Husker feild. I can’t wait till next year, but I hope more Auburn youths come cause we had a amazing time. I really enjoyed this group of YADA youths and I really love our leader Kaliey she is so fun to spend time with.

What if your older friend drinks alot and you don’t know want to be around them but you don’t want to hurt them by not hanging out with,what should I do? Please give me some ideas.

It is nice to have just a few people so you have time to make decisions but get done early enough to clear your trays or lunch boxes.
